From 1966, this Longines has a style that is surprisingly contemporary. The one-piece stainless steel case is in excellent condition; it is clean, lightly polished, and has superficial age wear. The silver sunray dial is in good condition, with faint age wear. The applied faceted indexes, winged hourglass logo, LONGINES signature, "Grand Prize" and "Automatic" inscriptions are perfectly rendered in black. Slender Nautilus hands match the bold indices, all placed on full display beneath the newly installed crystal. The Longines-signed crown has plenty of grip, and it winds and sets effortlessly. The caseback is in good condition, with average age wear.

The 17 jewel calibre 345 is a 19,800 v/h manual winding movement; it is clean and has clearly been well cared for over the decades. The automatic assembly features an oscillating weight that is slightly offset from center, giving it a seriously satisfying wrist presence. The watch has been timegrapher regulated in positions; with a high amplitude, it keeps impeccable time. The watch comes on new, Italian made brown lizard grain leather bands that accent the case nicely and are comfortable on the wrist.

Overall, this is a very nicely preserved example of early-Sixties style from a company that needs no introduction.
