This stunning Alpha chrono is a true head turner. The case is in good shape, with the plating loss and light pitting that is nearly always found on chronographs of this era. The dial deserves a paragraph of its own! Combining telemetry and a crosshatch central field gives you both accuracy and style. The gold alpha hands are also in excellent condition, not a single speck of lume is missing. All chrono functions work flawlessly: press the 2 o'clock pusher once and the chronograph second hand instantly begins moving. Press the 4 o'clock pusher to pause, then press it again and the hands snap back to 12 precisely.
The Landeron 48 was introduced in 1937 and it powered so many of the chronographs that were incredibly popular during the 1940's. This one has been inspected and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
The stainless steel caseback is in very good condition with light age wear. There is notable plating loss to the case reverse, but it's only aesthetic and doesn't affect case integrity. The crown has ample grip and it winds and sets well. The watch comes on 19mm genuine lizard leather bands with a matching silver buckle.
