An exceptionally well-preserved Bulova Navigator from 1949, this triple-signed watch has clearly been cared for over the decades! The 10k rolled gold plated case is in very good condition, with light to average age wear. The crown has plenty of grip and the watch winds and sets easily. The dial is classic Fifties ascetic; brilliant white with lovely reflective gold indices. The raised Bulova logo is easily legible and the Modern-style hands are the icing on the cake. A brand new acrylic crystal was installed during the overhaul and it looks phenomenal.
The 8AD movement is highly accurate, it has a healthy amplitude and keeps time with great accuracy. The stainless steel caseback is in very good condition with very minimal age wear and all date codes match. The watch comes on vintage lizard grain leather bands with a matching gold buckle. With its handsome horned lugs and stand-out white dial, this handsome Bulova is a wonderful example of mid-century 5th Avenue design; effortlessly stylish, exceptionally accurate, and always memorable.
Please note that all mechanical watches, including automatics, require occasional winding in order to function properly.
