A rare 1942 Bulova "Bruce" men's wristwatch, featuring a Swiss-made 15 jewel 10BS movement that has been inspected, fully serviced, and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
The Bulova Bruce is one of the most elegant models of the Forties. with its delicate scrollwork and elongated, sweeping lugs. This one has an incredible charcoal dial that has to be seen in person to fully appreciate it. Thanks to the brand new mainspring I installed, it also keeps time with great accuracy, averaging +/- 15 seconds per day! The curved case is in very good shape, with light age wear and faint brassing around the lugs. Gold Arabic numerals stand out against that amazing charcoal dial and the Bulova logo is crisp and legible. New, genuine Bulova hands were installed and they look incredible! The original mineral glass crystal is present and it's perfectly clear, with only a few shallow imperfections.
The caseback is in fine condition and it snaps firmly to the case, as it should. The 10BS movement is based on the A. Schild 1200, it is quite accurate with a healthy amplitude and a robust design. The Bruce comes on brand new, tapered, genuine crocodile calf leather bands in a rich mahogany hue that accents the case nicely. With its finely curved case, elegant lugs, and that amazing charcoal dial, the Bulova Bruce is the quintessential gentleman's watch of the War Years.
