The solid 14k gold case (27.9mm excluding the signed crown) is made by the Jonell Watch Case Company, luxury casemaker for brands including Omega, Hamilton, Tissot and others. The watch has clearly been cared for and rarely worn over the decades. The crystal appears brand new, with no imperfections. The linen-textured dial is pristine, with no patina whatsoever. All dial print is crisp and bold. The gold Alpha hands brilliantly reflect sunlight.

The one piece solid gold caseback (reference number 016412) has very light age wear and all date codes match. Inside, the US-made 23 jewel 10BZ movement is clean and properly lubricated using Moebius synthetic lubricants. The case interior bears numerous case marks, indication the watch has been regularly serviced over the decades, always a promising sign. The watch has been regulated in positions and is keeping time quite accurately. The vintage watch bands are in excellent condition, lightly padded and stitched in white, with the old-school oversized strap keeper and matching gold buckle.
