A vintage 1974 Caravelle self-winding wristwatch, featuring a Swiss-made A.Schild 2066 quickset calendar movement that has been inspected, fully serviced, and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
Caravelle was Bulova's lower-cost brand, typically utilizing less expensive, simpler movements. However, this watch features an A.S. 2066 self-winding quickset calendar movement usually reserved for higher-end watches. Pull the crown out to the first position and wind forward to advance the date or backward to advance the day; no more endless winding to adjust the calendar!
The eye-catching octagonal case (33.5mm excluding the crown) is in good shape, with average wear for its age. The dial is in very good condition, all branding is crisp and bold. The black and gold pin-striped indices match the classic 70's club hands. The glossy black sweep second hand is a nice touch as well. The stainless steel caseback is in very good condition and all date codes match.
The 21,000 v/h movement is clean and accurate with a healthy amplitude and the automatic assembly quietly winds the watch for you while you wear it. The watch comes with brand new alligator grain leather bands in a rich mahogany hue that compliments the case nicely. With its high-end movement and unmistakable Seventies vibe, this Caravelle would make a fine addition to your collection.
