A vintage 1970s Helbros "President" men's automatic watch, featuring a Swiss-made 17 jewel AS 2066 quickset calendar movement that has been inspected, fully serviced and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
This "President" is a real stunner! The polished stainless case (34.2mm excluding the crown) is in fine condition, with very light age wear. The bezel is brushed while the sides are polished, giving the watch an eye pleasing contrast. The pale, silvertone dial is pristine, with the date at three o'clock and the full day name at six o'clock. The dial is perfectly preserved beneath the brand new crystal I installed during the overhaul. The crown has ample grip and it winds and sets easily.
Inside, the high-end A. Schild 2066 movement is clean and properly lubricated. With a healthy amplitude and low beat error, it keeps time with great accuracy. Pull the crown out to the first position and the day and date can be quickset, no more endless winding! The automatic assembly quietly winds the watch for you while you wear it.
The stainless caseback is in fine condition as well. The President comes on a vintage stainless expansion bracelet by Drema that accents the case nicely. Overall, this Helbros is as accurate as it is stylish, clearly it's been well cared for over the decades. It would make a fantastic daily wearer.
