The Jubile, Certina's take on the classic men's dress watch! The polished stainless steel case (34.0mm excluding the crown) is in very good condition, with only light age wear. The pale white dial is simplicity personified: stark Roman numerals and two baton hands (no second hand needed, thank you very much). Held at an angle, the dial has a patina that nearly sparkles, I don't think I've ever seen one like it before. The signed crown has ample grip and it winds and sets easily.
Inside, a pleasant surprise awaits: a seventeen jewel Peseaux 7001 movement! The movement that powered watches from Rado, Bucherer, and Raymond Weil among others. It was the basis for Mido's "Baroncelli" collection and Tissot utilized it in their Heritage Porto and Lisboa lines. Omega’s calibre 651, found in the De Ville series, was also based on the 7001. It's a proven, solid workhorse movement.
The Jubile comes on lightly padded and stitches genuine leather bands that are quite comfortable on the wrist. Overall, this Certina ticks all the boxes for a classic dress watch.
