1970 Zodiac SST 36000 High Beat Watch

A vintage 1970 Zodiac SST 36000 high beat automatic calendar watch, featuring a calibre 86 movement that has been inspected and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.

This stunning SST 36000 is a true head turner. The gold electroplated case (35mm excluding the crown) is in fine condition, with only minimal age wear. The dial is immaculate, with gold applique indices, all branding is crisp and bold. The sweep second hand is in constant motion, a hallmark of a high beat watch. The signed crown has ample grip and it winds and sets easily. The date can be quickset simply by pressing the crown, no more endless winding! The automatic assembly quietly winds the watch for you while you wear it, but it is also safe (and encouraged) to wind the watch occasionally as usual.

The calibre 86 movement was designed by the Communauté d'Horlogerie de Précision (CHP), world renowned for their cutting edge engineering. Operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour, this movement provides an accuracy unmatched by conventional mechanical watches. With a healthy amplitude, a nominal beat error, as well as a hacking function, this Zodiac is just about as accurate as you can get.

The stainless caseback is in fine condition and it snaps tightly to the case, as it should. The watch comes on brand new, padded and stitched leather bands that are comfortable and accent the gold case nicely. Impeccably preserved and exceptionally accurate, this Zodiac is truly a collection centerpiece.
