A vintage 1970 Caravelle self-winding wristwatch, featuring a Swiss-made A.Schild 1906 calendar movement that has been inspected, fully serviced, and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
Caravelle was Bulova's lower-cost brand, typically utilizing less expensive, simpler movements. What many people don't know is that this watch and the 1967 Jaeger-leCoultre Club utilize the exact same movement: the A. Schild 1906!
The polished stainless steel case (34.3mm excluding the crown) is in very good condition, with only light age wear. The dial has light patination and all branding is crisp and bold. The faceted silver applique indices match the classic 70's club hands. The stainless steel caseback is in very good condition and all date codes (N0 = 1970) match.
The 21,000 v/h movement is clean and accurate and the automatic assembly quietly winds the watch for you while you wear it. The watch comes on 20mm alligator calf leather bands by Kreisler in a rich mahogany hue that compliments the case nicely. With its high-end movement and unmistakable Seventies vibe, this Caravelle would make a fine daily wearer!
