A Bulova "Regatta 23" C variant men's automatic watch. The high end, US made 23 jewel 10BZAC movement has been inspected, serviced, and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
Having successfully segued from the staid Fifties to the sleek and sophisticated styling of the early Sixties, Bulova was making waves among the nautically inclined. The Regatta series boasted some of the most unique and beautiful designs of the decade and this one is a good example. Its silver linen textured dial has some patination primarily along the outer edges. All dial print and branding is crisp and legible. The pitched Dauphine hands are in very good shape, retaining 100% of their lume. The stainless steel case (33.2mm excluding the crown) is also in good condition, with average wear for its age. The screwdown caseback is in good condition, the initials E.P. are etched into it (Elvis Presley? Ezra Pound? Who knows?) but it's not visible while on the wrist.
The crown has ample grip and it winds and sets well. The 10BZAC movement has clearly been well cared for over the decades. With a high amplitude and low beat error, it is exceptionally accurate, as you'd expect! The caseback gasket is present and in good shape and all the date codes match on this triple signed Bulova. The automatic assembly quietly winds the watch for you while you wear it. The Regatta comes on a period appropriate stainless expansion bracelet by Flex-on. The bracelet is clean and the pattern accents the dial nicely.
Regattas are always a crowd pleaser and it's easy to see why; with its sturdy steel case, pale silver dial, and high-end 23 jewel movement, this Bulova would make a phenomenal daily wearer!
