The serial on this impeccably-preserved Zenith dates it to 1962. Long prized for their contemporary style and unerring accuracy, Zenith is is one of the oldest continuously operating watchmakers in the world. The stainless steel case (34.0mm excluding the signed crown) is in excellent condition; it is clean, lightly polished, and has superficial age wear. The champagne-hued dial is pristine, the Zenith star and "Victorious" designation writ large across the dial. Elegant gold hands match the reflective gold indices, all placed on full display beneath the newly installed acrylic crystal. The Zenith-signed crown has ample grip and it winds and sets effortlessly. The caseback is also in excellent condition, with only the lightest wear.
The 17 jewel calibre 40-T is an 18,000 v/h manual winding movement; it is clean, properly lubricated with the appropriate Moebius synthetic lubricants, and has clearly been well cared for over the decades. The watch has been timegrapher regulated in positions; with an amplitude just north of 300°, it keeps impeccable time. The watch comes on new, Italian-made leather bands that accent the case nicely and are quite comfortable on the wrist.
From Georges Favre-Jacot's legendary factory in Le Locle comes this Zenith Victorious; an elegant and unerringly accurate timepiece that stands out among the crowd.
