A vintage 1960 Bulova "30" automatic men's watch, featuring a 30 jewel 10BZAC movement that has been inspected, fully serviced and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
The 1960 B30 "AW" is well known to collectors for it's unique "Poppy" indices. Via some mystical chemistry that is light years beyond my comprehension, the pips formed a poppy outline on the majority of the 1960 B30 dials, making them highly collectible to Bulova aficionados. This particular model is an absolute head-turner that has clearly been well cared for over the decades. The 10k gold filled bezel friction fits the brand new crystal to the stainless steel one piece case, placing that dial on full display. The case itself has light age wear and sturdy double-barrel lugs. The silver LP textured dial is truly stunning, all dial print is crisp and bold and the original hands look great too. The crown has plenty of grip and it winds and sets well.
Inside, the top of the line 30 jewel 10BZAC movement is running like a champ, averaging +/-10 seconds per day with an amplitude just north of 300°. The automatic assembly winds the watch for you while you wear it. The caseback is in extra-fine condition with almost no age wear to note. The B30 comes on a pair of black, genuine leather bands with a matching stainless steel buckle. With Bulova's highest-end movement of the era, the 1960 B30 "Poppy" is as eye-catching as it is precise.
