A 1959 Bulova "Banker" A watch, featuring a Swiss-made 17 jewel 11AF movement that has been inspected, fully serviced, and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
This eye-catching late-Fifties Banker "A" variant has a 10k rolled gold plated case (27.7mm excluding the SIGNED crown) that is in very good condition, with no visible brassing and light age wear. The upper and lower bezel are scalloped, the sides are rounded to allow for the 11 ligne movement, and stately, horned lugs finish out the case. The dial is pin excellent condition-perfectly preserved beneath the original mineral glass crystal. The uniquely 1950's indices and pitched alpha hands are a lovely reflective gold to match the case. The photos don't do this watch justice, it has to be seen to be appreciated!
The signed crown has plenty of grip and the watch winds and sets easily. The stainless steel caseback is in very good condition and it snaps tightly to the case as it should. The workhorse 11AF movement keeps time very accurately; with a healthy amplitude and low beat error, it's ready for the next fiscal year. The Banker comes on new old-stock, US made, brown leather bands with a matching gold buckle. Overall, this is a very high grade example of the late-Fifties Banker "A" model that is certain to turn heads wherever it's worn!
