A 1958 U.S. military issued Bulova A-17A hacking navigation watch, featuring a 17 jewel 10BNCH movement that has been inspected, fully serviced, and regulated to ensure accuracy.

This early Vietnam-era A-17A is one of the *most* sought-after military watches on the market. It is the all-time most upvoted watch on the Bulova sub-Reddit (see last photo) and has also ranked well on Watchuseek.

The case (32mm excluding the crown) is in very good condition for a watch that's seen action. The dial is exceptionally well preserved beneath the original crystal. Not one speck of pumpkin lume is missing from the hands and the original sweep second hand is present as well. Pull the oversize crown out and the hacking mechanism stops the balance wheel, freezing the second hand and allowing for synchronization.

The caseback is original, not a field replacement, and has average wear for a service watch. Inside, the gasket and dust cap are present and in excellent condition. The U.S.-made movement is absolutely pristine; an unmarked caseback interior leads me to believe I was the first person to service this watch. The watch has been regulated in positions and is highly accurate, with a healthy amplitude as you'd expect.

Finally, I installed new-old stock, WWII era service bands from the American Strap Co. of NYC. I'll include their packaging with the watch for your records. This is by far one of the finest A-17A's I've had the pleasure of servicing and it is going to make one lucky collector very happy indeed!

Please note that all mechanical watches, including automatics, require occasional winding in order to function properly. The watch will be well packaged and shipped out within one business day and tracking information is always included. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask prior to purchase and I'll reply promptly. Thank you for looking and have a great day!
