The 1950s were a banner decade for Bulova, with many of the era's models setting the standard for decades to some. With its deep ebon sunburst dial, polished stainless case, and bold, gothic lugs, the 1956 B23 "A" is instantly recognizable to any collector. The case (30.6mm excluding the crown) is in excellent condition, with only faint age wear. Polished to a mirror sheen, the scalloped bezel brilliantly reflects sunlight. All dial print is crisply legible, the pitched Alpha hands are a lovely reflective silver, as is the sweep second hand.
The 10BPAC movement has clearly been well cared for over the decades. With a high amplitude and low beat error, it is exceptionally accurate. All date codes match on this quadruple-signed Bulova, the crown winds and sets easily and the automatic assembly quietly winds the watch for you while you wear it. The B23 comes on vintage black leather bands in a rich black hue that accents the case nicely.
The '56 Bulova 23 "A" is a collector's favorite and it's easy to see why; with its mirror polished steel case, space black dial, and high-end 23 jewel movement, this B23 is certain to become your next favorite watch!
