A 1954 Bulova "Thayer" automatic watch with a 17 jewel 10CSC movement has been inspected, fully serviced, and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
This Bulova is a classic Fifties head-turner! With its silver hourglass dial, 10K RGP case, and beautiful ribbon lugs, this Thayer is as handsome as it is accurate! The polished case (30.5mm excluding the crown) is in good condition, with light to average age wear. The dial is perfectly preserved beneath the brand new crystal. All dial print is crisp and clear, the Dauphine hands are a deep reflective red-gold with a matching sweep second hand. The triple signed watch bears matching date codes and the crown winds and sets well. The caseback is also in very good condition and it snaps firmly to the case, as it should.
The movement has clearly been looked after over the decades. Thanks to the brand new mainspring I installed, the 10CSC has a high amplitude and is exceptionally accurate to say the least! The automatic assembly quietly winds the watch for you while you wear it and the watch is extremely comfortable on the wrist. The watch comes on vintage black leather bands that accent the case finish nicely.
The '54 Bulova Thayer is a classic mid-century American watch. With its fancy lugs, hourglass dial, and automatic movement, it ticks all the boxes!
