A handsome 1953 Bulova "Providence" men's wristwatch, featuring a 17 jewel 10BT movement that has been inspected, fully serviced, and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
A fairly uncommon model, this "Providence" has seen its share of the action. The 10k RGP case (24.9mm by 29.8mm excluding crown and lugs) is in fair to good condition, with average age wear. The dial has notable age wear and patination, however, the "Dracula-dot" indices are a lovely reflective gold and the Bulova logo is still fully legible. The crystal has been hand ground and polished and only a few imperfections remain. The signed crown has ample grip and it wnds and sets easily.
The steel caseback is in fine condition and it snaps firmly to the case, as it should. The 10BC movement is quite accurate and has a healthy amplitude, thanks to the new mainspring that was installed during the overhaul. The Providence comes on a two-tone chain link/expansion bracelet that has been ultrasonically cleaned and polished. The silvery links accent the dial shade nicely. Overall, this quadruple-signed Providence has a character that was 70 years in the making. Stately and handsome, it's ready to keep time accurately for decades to come.
