An exceptionally well-preserved Bulova Ambassador from 1953, this triple-signed watch has clearly been cared for over the decades! The 10k rolled gold plated case is in excellent condition, with light age wear. The crown has plenty of grip and the watch winds and sets easily. The dial is classic Fifties ascetic; a cream and silver hourglass with reflective gold indices. The Bulova signature is easily legible and the simple Index style hands are the icing on the cake. The crystal was ground and hand polished during the overhaul and it looks phenomenal.
The 10BM movement is highly accurate, it has a healthy amplitude and keeps time with great accuracy. The stainless steel caseback is in very good condition with a beautifully engraved dedication. The watch comes on vintage lizard grain leather bands with a matching gold buckle. With its extravagant gold case and stand-out dial, this handsome Bulova is a wonderful example of mid-century 5th Avenue design; effortlessly stylish, exceptionally accurate, and always memorable.
