A stunning 1950's Benrus "Pointer Date" men's watch, featuring a Swiss made 17 jewel ETA 900 movement that has been inspected, serviced, and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy. One of the earlier ETA-based pointer calendar watches, this Benrus is in exceptionally fine condition. The 10k rolled gold plated case (30mm excluding the crown) is in very good condition, with minimal age wear. The dial is pristine, with no notable patination; it looks practically new. The blue steel, red-tipped date hand clicks over at midnight, as does the day. The crystal is clear and scratch-free. The crown has ample grip and it winds and sets easily.
This movement has a quickset feature; simply press the crown and the date advances, no more endless winding! It is clean and has clearly been looked after over the decades. Serviced in May of 2024, it has a high amplitude, low beat error and keeps time with great accuracy. The Benrus comes on new old-stock black lizard calf leather bands with a matching gold buckle. Perpetually in demand, these Fifties pointer calendar watches are a personal favorite of mine. I'm certain it will quickly become one of yours as well!
Please note that all mechanical watches, including automatics, require occasional winding in order to function properly. The watch will be well packaged and shipped out within one business day and tracking information is always included. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask prior to purchase and I'll reply promptly. Thank you for looking and have a great day!
