A handsome 1949 Bulova "Director" men's wristwatch, featuring a 15 jewel 10BC movement that has been inspected, fully serviced, and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
One of the most popular models of the 1940's, the Bulova Director is easily identifiable by its distinctive lugs. This one is running like a top, thanks to the new, alloy mainspring that was just installed. The 10k RGP case (25.8mm by 27.1mm excluding crown and lugs) is in very good shape, with light to average age wear. The dial is in exceptionally fine condition for its age, all numerals are a lovely reflective gold, the minute track is unmarred, and all dial print is crisp and legible. The crystal has been hand ground and polished and only a few imperfections remain.
The steel caseback is in fine condition and it snaps firmly to the case, as it should. The 10BC movement is quite accurate and has a healthy amplitude. The Director comes on black, genuine leather bands with a matching gold buckle that accents the case nicely. Overall, this Director is still calling the shots and the 10BC workhorse movement is ready to keep time for generations to come.
