A 1948 Bulova "His Excellency" AA variant gent's wristwatch with a high end, 21 jewel 10BH movement that has been inspected, fully serviced and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
The 10k gold filled case (30.2mm excluding the crown) is in fine condition with very distinctive knot lugs. The dial is absolutely pristine with beautiful Bavarian indices. The Bulova logo is crisply legible and the gold alpha-style hands are a lovely polished gold. A brand new crystal was installed during the overhaul and it places that incredible dial on full display. The signed crown has plenty of grip and the watch winds and sets easily. The matching 10k gold filled caseback is in excellent condition, with very minimal age wear.
Inside, the 21 jewel 10BH movement keeps time with great accuracy, thanks to the application of appropriate Moebius lubricants and a brand new mainspring. With an amplitude just north of 300°, it's good to go for years.
The watch comes on brand new crocodile calf leather bands in a deep, rich mahogany hue that accents the case perfectly. This is probably the finest example of a late-40's "His Excellency" model I've ever seen. These are highly sought after by collectors as they were Bulova's highest-end model of the period. Effortlessly stylish, exceptionally accurate, and always memorable.
