A 1947 Bulova "Senator" E variant watch, featuring a Swiss-made 17 jewel 8AH movement that has been inspected, fully serviced, and timegrapher regulated.
This triple-signed Senator has been very well cared for over the decades! The 10k rolled gold plated case is in very good condition with only the faintest age wear. The pale, off-white dial has a light patina, with gilt indices and arrowhead markers. The raised Bulova logo and the Modern hands are exactly the same shade of gold as the case, indicating all original parts. The crystal is mineral glass, it is clean and has only a few minor imperfections. The crown has plenty of grip and the watch winds and sets easily.
The 8AH movement is based on the venerable ETA 1000. It is highly accurate, with a healthy amplitude, it keeps excellent time. The caseback is in very good condition with only light age wear, it snaps firmly to the case as it should. The watch comes on a very nice deployant clasp bracelet that matches the case hue very well. It is highly adjustable and will fit nearly any wrist size comfortably. With its unique seashell lugs, polished gold case and perfectly selected bracelet, this handsome Senator is a wonderful example of late-Forties 5th Avenue design; devilishly handsome and exceptionally accurate.
