One of the most popular World War II era models, this 1942 Bulova Lieutenant has developed an incredible burnished rose gold hue over the decades! The case is reasonably sized for its era, larger than most of its peers. The dial has no notable patination, the Modern hands are a lovely blue that contrasts perfectly against that copper tone dial. The stainless steel caseback has light age wear and it snaps firmly to the case.
The Bulova signed crown has plenty of grip and the watch winds and sets effortlessly. The workhorse 10BS movement has clearly been looked after over the decades. A brand new mainspring was installed during the overhaul, giving the watch a healthy amplitude. Regulated in positions, the Lieutenant is exceedingly accurate, as you'd expect. The watch comes on lizard grain leather bands with matching buckle.
Often confused with the more common Cadet model, the Lieutenant featured a rose gold case that was known for developing the intense burnished tone this watch now displays in spades. This World War II era Bulova has a character that only comes with time; eight decades in the making. This is the kind of watch that's certain to spark conversations whenever it's seen!
Please note that all mechanical watches, including automatics, require occasional winding in order to function properly. The watch will be well packaged and shipped out within one business day via USPS Ground Advantage. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask prior to purchase and I'll respond promptly. Thank you for looking and have a great day.
