A stunning 1942 Bulova Lieutenant men's wristwatch, featuring a 17 jewel 10BL movement that has been inspected, fully serviced, and timegrapher regulated to ensure accuracy.
One of the finest examples of World War II-era men's fashion, this Lieutenant is sure to turn heads! This one is running like a top, averaging +/- 10 seconds per day. Not half bad for an 80 year old! The rose gold case (25.5mm by 28.3mm excluding crown and lugs) is in very good shape, with light to average age wear. The salmon dial has is in surprisingly good condition with a light patina. All numerals are easily legible and all dial print is crisp and clear. The crystal has been hand ground and polished and only a few imperfections remain.
The steel caseback is in very good condition and it snaps firmly to the case, as it should. The 10BL movement was based on the venerable Felsa 335, one of the best workhorses of the Forties. The Lieutenant comes on period appropriate black genuine leather bands. Overall, this Lieutenant has clearly been looked after over the decades and that Felsa 335 movement is ready to keep accurate time for generations to come.
