World renown for their precision stopwatches and rally timers, Clebar specialized in chronographs. Often referred to as "the poor man's Heuer", their chronographs utilized many of the same movements that powered their pricier peers. Made primarily for the Canadian market, they were distributed by Zodiac. I'm a huge Clebar fan, and this watch has been in my personal collection for nearly a decade.

The case is in good shape, with the light plating loss that is nearly always found on chronographs of the Forties. The big eye panda dial is exceptionally well preserved, all print is crisply legible. The blued steel hands are also in excellent condition, not a single speck of lume is missing. All chronograph functions work as they should: press the 2 o'clock pusher once and the chronograph second hand begins moving. Press it again to pause to pause, then press the 4 o'clock pusher and the hands snap back to 12 precisely.

The Landeron 48 was introduced in 1937 and it powered many of the chronographs that were popular during the 1940's. I serviced the movement and timegrapher regulated it to ensure accuracy.

The stainless steel caseback is in very good condition with light age wear. The crown has ample grip and it winds and sets effortlessly. The watch comes on 18mm genuine oilskin leather bands with a matching silver buckle.

With its beautifully preserved dial, and robust Landeron movement, this Clebar chronograph will quickly become one of your favorites!

Please note that all mechanical watches, including automatics, require occasional winding in order to function properly. The watch will be well packaged and shipped out within one business day and tracking information is always included. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask prior to purchase and I'll reply promptly. Thank you for looking and have a great day!
